The Standing Committee member of the University's Party Committee and Vice President, Mr. Nie Shaoping, paid a visit to the School of Law to conduct research and provide guidance

On the morning of August 30, 2023, Mr. Nie Shaoping, a member of the university's Party Committee and Vice President, paid a visit to the Law School to conduct research and provide guidance. The Dean of the Law school, Mr. Yang Feng, presided over a symposium on the research and guidance work, attended by the Secretary of the School's Party Committee, Ms. Zhou Man, Vice Deans Mr. Deng Jianzhong and Mr. Xiong Yongming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Mr. Han Yupeng, Vice Dean Mrs. Liu Xuelan, Party Committee member Professor Mrs. Zheng Junping,and the Director of the Professorial Board,Professor Lan Shourong,  attended the meeting.

During the symposium, Mr. Yang briefly introduced all the members of the Law School's Party and Administration team, as well as the historical evolution and overall development of the school. He focused on explaining the situation regarding the cultivation of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, faculty development, program construction, research platform establishment, talent cultivation, and future development plans of the school. Ms. Zhou reported on the law school's ideological and political work, providing a detailed overview of the basic situation of the Law School's ideology and political work, highlighting its strengths, discussing existing problems, and presenting future ideological and political work plans.

Mr. Nie attentively listened to the report on the work of the Law School and engaged in friendly communication with everyone. He expressed recognition for the remarkable achievements the school has made in the field of legal education and research thanks to the joint efforts of the entire Party and Administration team. Additionally, Mr. Nie offered three suggestions for the future development of the school: firstly, to fulfill the fundamental task of moral education and nurturing talents with a strong sense of national pride on the existing foundation; secondly, to focus and refine the school's disciplinary construction and research by establishing sustainable succession teams through mentoring and guidance of promising young teachers by experienced ones; finally, to enhance the service consciousness and provide high-quality services to faculty and students, promoting their coordinated development.

This research and guidance work has provided clear direction for the development of the Law School and important guidance for future work. The school will earnestly implement the opinions and suggestions of the university's leaders, further strengthen teaching, research, and disciplinary construction, and strive to cultivate more outstanding legal professionals, making greater contributions to the development of our university.
